- someone who ordinarily would give you a present for your wedding may have a condo in a great vacation area
- belong to a travel club with huge discounts
- have a timeshare they can place in a "vacation bank" and give you a week or two where you want to go
Establish "A Honeymoon Registry".
Your invited guests can give gifts toward your honeymoon trip in lieu of a regular wedding gift. You will find them on www.A-Honeymoon.com
Take a week to enjoy your own city or one nearby.
Investigate the local information on historical, art, excursions and really get to know this city.
You can try a new and different restaurant each day and go home at night to save costs on rooms. Explore it as you never did before...be a tourist. The strange thing is most people know more about other towns/cities than their own.
Trade Houses or apartments for a week or two.
You probably know someone who would love to explore your area while you explore theirs.
Ask them for their list of favorite things to do while in the area and best restaurant. There are also on-line companies and membership groups who do this all over the world.
Borrow a motor home or a trailer to tour with.
Camping and youth hostiles are a possibility all over the world.
